Whatcom Community Foundation in Point Roberts
Did You Know?
The permanent population of Point Roberts is just 1200+ people, but in summer the population swells dramatically as Canadian cottage-owners and tourists come for the beaches and forests.
Point Roberts is a U.S. exclave, meaning you can only get there by land by driving through Canada. It sits on the southern tip of the Tsawwassen Peninsula, separated from the rest of Washington by the Canadian border.
Each “corner” of the Point Roberts peninsula is home to a public park or notable beach/shoreline — from beaches to viewpoints to forest — giving residents and visitors easy access to both water and forest lands.
Children in Point Roberts can attend the local primary school for grades K–3, but older students must cross the Canadian border daily to reach schools on the U.S. mainland, mostly in Blaine.
