We’re supporting the formation of a local advisory board or committee that can solicit ideas and make recommendations or decisions. But if that’s not in the cards for your area, then Whatcom Community Foundation will ensure the funds are dispersed in your community with local input.

We see 2026 as a building year: building awareness, encouraging community members to build the fund, building the group that will field funding requests, and developing the parameters that ensure practical and ethical decision-making and distribution.
